Please find below our round-up of Xero Product Updates from the last few months.

Let’s dive straight in! 🙂

🚀 CORE XERO:

An update on Classic Invoicing - Xero were due to retire classic invoicing during November, but have recently announced that they're extending this to 27 February 2025. New Invoicing has had a shed load of updates to it over the past few months, and we think this delay will allow Xero more time to add in even more functionality, as well as iron out anything that needs improving.

Bills - You can now view the details on any Bill from the Bills screen, by clicking the "view" icon to the left. There will also be an automatic alert in the banner when Xero believes that duplicate bills have been created.

New Invoicing - If you have different tax rates applicable to items, you can now easily see a breakdown on the Invoice Creation screen. You can also record any overpayments directly on invoices (rather than creating these manually), just click the "Add Payment" button to add the amount you actually received.

Payment Link - You can now create & send a payment link to your customers. Xero will automatically create an Invoice from this link. Find out more here:

🚀 REPORTING:

Xero have introduced a preview panel in the layout editor of all reports, which makes it easier to customise the layouts.

Xero's acquisition of Syft expected to complete before the end of 2024 - Syft is a reporting, insights and analytics platform. The short term plan seems to be that it will be a separate standalone app, but we envisage that Xero will embed Syft's functionality within their core product as time goes by (possibly as their "new subscription plans" come into effect). 🚀 XERO MOBILE APPs:

Xero Accounting App - You can now sort the statement lines on the bank reconciliation screen (reconciled status, date/payee/amount, new-old).

Share Invoices - You can now share Invoices on any available app on your mobile (e.g. Messages, WhatsApp, etc), just click the 3 dots & select "share".

IOS Specific - Xero have updated the location of the buttons used to create and manage invoices across all invoice statuses.

New payment methods with Stripe - In last quarter's Xero Product Update, we mentioned that you'd soon be able to offer new payment options.
